I have the honour to invite reference to

previous correspondence resting with my Confidential

14 (2) despatch of 10th December, 1938, regarding the

method of assessment of the Military Contribution

paid by this Colony. I decided that it was desirable

to make a public intimation of the new scheme and I

enclose for your information a copy of a statement on

this subject which was made to the Legislative Council

at a meeting held on 22nd December, 1938.
